• Software Engineer-Porting, FFI (Financial Fusion)

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for assisting the senior porting engineer on the design and implementation of porting efforts from existing platforms to newly identified platforms.
• Exercise predefined set of test suites and work together with QE team to validate the port.
• Applies sound technical, projects and past experience in assisting senior porting engineer in estimating task size and timeframes.
• Executes the work plan, independently providing intermediate progress and exception reports to senior porting engineer.
• Responsible for the committed time frame, functionality, performance and quality objectives established for the porting project as defined by senior engineer.

Qualifications:

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 1+ years of software development experience in JAVA technologies and web technologies, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1-3 years prior experience porting application software to various platforms.
• Be able to demonstrate the ability to quickly grasp overall framework and functionality of existing software and have the ability to continue development and enhancement of the product
• Familiar with software development cycles
• Enthusiastic about understanding and developing complex systems
• Responsible and motivated in project completion and ownership
• Technical Skills:
• Proficient in J2EE / Java EE technologies, Java development and Networking (HTTP, Web Services, TCP/IP)
• 1-3 years development experiences in Java or porting experience with a Java based application.
• Knowledge of Banking systems and banking software is a huge plus.
• Development experience using SQL language is a plus. General knowledge of database concept and database internal is a must. DB2, Oracle, Sybase Adaptive Server experience a strong plus.
• Experience developing multi-user or workgroup style applications is required.
• Experience in testing Java applications is also a plus.
• Understanding operating systems (AIX, Solaris, Windows) including memory management, job scheduling, multitasking and I/O is also a must.

Requirement

• Bachelor 1 yrs above or MS 0~3 yrs from top computer science departments 
• good analytic skills and problem solving skills 
• good programming skills in Java/J2EE, Windows/Unix/Linux and SQL/DBMS 
• Self motivated and organized 
• financial services industry experience a plus 
• excellent English skills especially verbal.
