Summary
- This position is accountable for assuring the delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients in accordance to SOS pharmacy SOPPs.
Major Responsibilities:
- Supervise pharmacist-assistant work.
- Ensure all prescriptions reviewed by the assistant before processing.
- Ensure all labels are printed properly.
- Provide consulting to patients.
- Confirm the patient name before dispensing.
- Give detailed instructions about drug name, strength, dosage, administration, possible interactions and precautions.
- Accompany with each item with a hand out.
- Provide professional and accurate answers to doctors and patients' inquires on site, telephone or inter-net.
- Present at least two talks to doctors within 12 months.
- Attend to patients needs.
- Play a role in pharmacy business development plan.
- Ensure pharmacy revenue and profit targets are achieved.
- Develop and execute at least one project that will enhance pharmacy productivity.
- Maintain a conductive working environment.
- Keep the dispensing counter tidy and clean.
- Keep office equipment in good working order and have any defects fixed by departments concerned.
Qualifications:
- Education background: the incumbent must be pharmacy college graduate or above.
- Language capabilities: the incumbent must be able to communicate in spoken and written English effectively and fluently.
- Pharmacology knowledge: the incumbent must have a good command of clinical pharmacology and update the knowledge base continuously.
- Computer skills: the incumbent must have practical computer skills and have ability to type at least 30 words per minute.
- Ability to commit to pharmaceutical care.
- Be able to establish a sound therapeutic relationship with patients.
- Be able to provide a solution to all patient drug related problems efficiently.
- Ability to commit to team work and adapt a win-win approach.
